Shamrocks

Residents started getting into the Irish mood by making some shamrocks. It was a unique process where we started with a few strips of paper, but then they turned out very festive. It’s no blarney that we are ready for St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Yarn Bowls

Residents got a bit messy and made yarn bowls. Piece by piece, they put on strings to create a masterpiece. The hardest part will be waiting three days for them to dry, but it was a lot of fun. Donnie was pretty creative and gave his bowl a face with hair.

Batik Art

Residents learned the ancient Indonesian art of Batiking. They colored shapes and patterns on color-resistant paper. Then the unimaginable happened; they had to crumple them up! Many just looked at me thinking, “Why on earth would I do that?” Once they finally did it, they painted, blotted, and ironed the paper. We finished it with some lamination. They turned out great! Someday, we will do fabric Batik. It is always fun to learn …
