COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic & Frosty Heart

January 29th, 2021

We had a very special day at Shoreview Senior Living recently as our associates and residents received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! We want to give a huge thank you to the CVS pharmacists who administered the shots and worked closely with our staff to ensure a smooth, safe experience for everyone. We’re so happy to have taken this giant next step in protecting our community and loved ones, and we are very excited to keep moving forward!

One of our associates, Sue, noticed a few hearts left in the snow of our parking lot the other day from the Shoreview Senior Living skyway. Thanks for capturing and sharing the lovely scene with us, Sue! ❤️🤍

Shoreview Community Greetings and Activities

August 21st, 2020

Everyone at Shoreview has really stepped up and come together to stay safe, healthy, and happy. Check out these community greetings and activities and see what we’ve been up to lately!

Residents from our Garden Cove North apartments recently enjoyed some outdoor patio time. They loved the opportunity to visit with one another and pick a flower or two! ??

A few of your friends from Shoreview Senior Living wanted to send you greetings, and one decided to use classic lyrics to help spread some smiles!

We like to keep our afternoons busy with various activities here at Shoreview Senior Living, whether we’re catching up on the news, building a LEGO masterpiece, or getting our hair done!

Betty is one of our hardworking aides. Thanks for all you do for the Shoreview Senior Living community, Betty!

Residents in our Garden Cove apartments have discovered a new favorite pastime: stencil painting! It’s a fun, relaxing activity with plenty of room for creativity. Plus, the outcomes are always beautiful! ?

Our friend, Yvonne, is at it again! She has been making extra-cozy (and extremely huggable ) lap blankets and shoulder wraps for her fellow residents at Shoreview Senior Living. Thank you, Yvonne!

You can never get tired of the doing the “Hokey Pokey!”

There’s plenty of laughter during hall bingo. Our winners are also shouting out “bingo” with extra gusto these days!

He’s so humble when it comes to his art, but look at the pictures we “borrowed” for our bulletin board!

Shoreview Senior Living staff delighted residents with “made-to-order breakfasts” delivered right to their apartments! There’s nothing like a hot breakfast of bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, and eggs made your way!  ???

Music and Art, Family Time, and Healthy Living

February 7th, 2020

We’ve been focusing on fun and happiness here at Shoreview Senior Living! Recent events covered music and art, family time, and healthy living.

It doesn’t get much more special than four generations dining together! Shoreview tenant Mary J. enjoyed a wonderful afternoon when her daughter, granddaughter, and grandchild came by to visit recently.

Happy hour with the music group, Bandanahh, was an AMAZING way to spend a Friday afternoon!

Shoreview Senior Living residents enjoyed a fun art project with a very delightful group of area Girl Scouts!

Because he loved the snowman he created at preschool so much, our friend Xavier came by to teach us how to make them for ourselves! ⛄️

Shoreview Senior Living hosted a “wellness clinic,” where residents learned about their own health and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Movement in May

May 21st, 2018

The past few weeks have been full of activities that inspired residents to get moving!

Yoga and Volleyball

We had a terrific Tuesday! Residents started out with volleyball in the morning. It’s becoming pretty competitive! After lunch, we all headed out for some trivia on the patio. We ended the wonderful day outside doing yoga with Nancy.

Mother’s Day Tea

Monday afternoon, we enjoyed sitting on the patio before the rain came. Afterwards, we ventured inside for our Mother’s Day Tea Party. David Geske played some beautiful piano music for all the ladies (and a few men too), while the residents enjoyed tea with little cucumber sandwiches and petite desserts. It was a beautiful afternoon to celebrate with the moms at Shoreview Senior Living!

Senior Prom

A room filled with beautiful decorations, a corsage for each resident, and nothing but smiles made for the start of a wonderful Prom. The beauty of each resident was captured as they enjoyed an afternoon of music with Dan and Judy from Bandanaa, dancing, and gourmet treats. A few teenagers from Mounds View High School joined us and helped create many lasting memories. They were such joyful and compassionate students as they danced and visited with the residents. This intergenerational experience is rewarding for the students and seniors. We were proud to crown Dawn and Lee Herndon as the 2018 King and Queen of Shoreview Senior Living. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special!!!

Canvas Painting

Mrs. Jill visited residents to do some canvas painting. They each created beautiful spring paintings of flowers in a field. I love how the residents can relax and get lost in their painting.

Dancing to Amy and Adams

Residents enjoyed their weekly happy hour with Amy and Adams. They are a wonderful and talented music duo. The music got the residents singing, dancing, and tapping their toes. “Ralph” (my puppet) even came out to get Telly to smile a little bit. Then Leo caught a dance with mom. Amy and Adams are a fun couple. We look forward to seeing them again!

Leo February Visit

February 28th, 2018

Leo visited all day and spread his love to everyone. We started off the day singing hymns with Norma on piano and Judy leading us in song. They did a great job! In the afternoon, when yoga started, I think Leo was too tired to care when we did our cat and cows, but I did catch him doing his “ball pose.” It’s amazing how he lights up the day for the residents and staff.
