An amazing evening was had by all at our Alzheimer’s BBQ Fundraiser. So many wonderful people came to volunteer, which helped make it a HUGE success!
There were lots of fun pictures and laughs at our photo booth, and a few showed off their creativity with face painting. It was great to see everyone active and having fun! We also had two furry visitors, which added to the smiles of the residents.
We may not have reached our personal goal as a building, but we created memories that will last a lifetime. THANK YOU to everyone who helped in our fight against Alzheimer’s disease!! We will fight until we win.

We had such a wonderful time participating in the annual Slice of Shoreview parade! Rockin’ Tony entertained us the whole time and we danced while they tailgated. Our residents were such troopers when the storm broke out halfway through the parade. They found bags, boxes and even a tootsie pop wrapper to cover their heads–some even continued waving as they were poured upon.
Although the rain put a damper on things, we still had a fun day. The residents enjoyed telling all their friends about their experience when they got back. We got a kick out of Luke running half a mile with Kay as she held an umbrella and laughed. When we got back, we told the residents that they are all signed up to be in the parade next year!

A group from St. Mary of the Lake joined us for basketball, parachute games and singing. Our Memory Care residents had a great time singing along. The kids are very active and love sports and dance. One girl is even a second year black belt in taekwondo and showed our residents a few moves. The group was such a joy to have and we look forward to their next visit!
