Fall Fun at Shoreview Senior Living

November 20th, 2021

Residents at Shoreview Senior Living recently enjoyed a live music performance. Our evening with the Pistachio Singers was full of wonderful show tunes, hymns, choral music, and laughter. It’s always a joy to host this talented group!

The Centennial Stompers play their music with gusto, and they treated us to a performance at Shoreview Senior Living. The fun they have is obvious, and we can’t help but tap our feet and clap along. We enjoy them so much!

A picture is worth a thousand words. 📷
Shoreview Senior Living wants to thank Jane, Bernice, and Hazel for posing for this gem. You gals are just so cute!

In celebration of Oktoberfest, our staff hosted a tasty German meal for all Shoreview Senior Living residents. Spätzle and German potato salad were among the many items to enjoy. We had so much fun getting to know one another and learning about each other’s heritage. 🍻🥨

Our Shoreview Senior Living Halloween Social was a great time to get together, socialize, enjoy ice cream sundaes, and see the great costumes worn by our residents and staff. 🎃

We recently had a special guest say hello from outside the windows of Shoreview Senior Living. Teresa enjoyed a cup of coffee and a visit from “Bunny,” who was very busy cleaning up the garden for winter. 🐇

Staff members from the nature center at Silverwood Park paid a visit and taught us about cartography, which is the study and practice of making and using maps. We used what we learned by painting a favorite lake, complete with different colors to show water depth!

Silverwood Nature Center, Pontoon Ride, & Other Fun Events

August 20th, 2021

Shoreview Senior Living residents recently visited Silverwood Nature Center to learn about our Minnesota Lakes. The Nature Center is part of Silverwood Park, which integrates nature and art with its open green spaces with gorgeous lake views, art gallery, outdoor amphitheater, and collection of hiking trails. It’s a great place to learn and explore, and we did exactly that.

Our residents also took home a very special art project. Everyone got their very own screen print of our handcrafted lake scene.

There are few better ways to spend a morning than with a relaxing pontoon boat ride. Our captain chauffeured Shoreview Senior Living residents around White Bear Lake and shared with us an abundance of history about the lake and its surrounding homes and towns.

The weather was perfect, and the company was even better!

Residents of Shoreview Senior Living were recently inspired by Deacon Jim’s messages during morning Mass. We all enjoyed his uplifting words as well as readings and prayers. He also tells some pretty good jokes, which keeps us all on our toes.

Jim and Dan are among our extremely talented musicians at Shoreview Senior Living. Recently, residents were treated to a performance by this gifted duo. Jim and Dan served as the musical act for one of our Thursday entertainment events, and residents packed the room to hear them play. Everyone had a fabulous time, tapping toes and bobbing heads while singing along to the music.

Thank you to Jim and Dan for such an amazing show!

We had a very special day at Shoreview Senior Living recently as our associates and residents received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! We want to give a huge thank you to the CVS pharmacists who administered the shots and worked closely with our staff to ensure a smooth, safe experience for everyone. We’re so happy to have taken this giant next step in protecting our community and loved ones, and we are very excited to keep moving forward!

One of our associates, Sue, noticed a few hearts left in the snow of our parking lot the other day from the Shoreview Senior Living skyway. Thanks for capturing and sharing the lovely scene with us, Sue! ❤️🤍

Celebrating Assisted Living Week & Fall Fun

October 2nd, 2020

Earlier this month, we celebrated Assisted Living Week by recognizing the many “shining stars” we have working at Shoreview Senior Living! Each associate received goodie bags and special recognition throughout the week. To cap it all off, some of our kitchen staff helped run a random name drawing for our associates to win gift cards and a few other fun prizes. We are so lucky to have such amazing, caring people on our team. Thank you, Shoreview Senior Living staff, for all that you do for everyone in our community!

Having a tasty, freshly cooked breakfast delivered right to your front door makes getting up in the morning a LOT easier. We love our made-to-order breakfasts here at Shoreview Senior Living!

Our friend, Yvonne, has been at it again with her handcrafted shawls and lap quilts, and just in time for the chilly autumn weather. Thanks again, Yvonne!

There’s nothing quite like the sound of music when it comes to spreading joy. We always have such a wonderful time when we can get together and sing, even if we have to meet in the hall and stay socially distanced!

With the season change, we decided it was time to decorate our halls with some fall art! We had lots of fun talking about the funny and clever antics of squirrels during a recent painting project. ??

100th Birthday Celebration and Art Gifts

July 31st, 2020

We had a special day at Shoreview Senior Living when we had our friend Pat’s 100th birthday celebration. Our staff cheered and used noisemakers as family and friends drove through our parking lot waving and honking their horns. Shoreview residents joined in the fun and celebration, many from their balconies or windows. Please join us in wishing a Pat a very happy birthday! ??

Sam has been busy making art to decorate our building and to give to others. He uses our art kits to inspire his creativity, including a “dotty art” project. Thank you, Sam!

We love it when we receive art from our young friends. Two siblings from Roseville sent us pictures, which they drew and painted themselves, to be distributed to all the amazing residents here at Shoreview Senior Living. We can’t thank them enough for the beautiful and thoughtful gifts!

The holidays are better with treats, and we had a wonderful time decorating cookies together. There was plenty of laughter and cookie sampling!

Kent Appeldoorn had us all laughing and singing at a recent happy hour.

Our Christmas tea party was a wonderful afternoon thanks to music by Tara Brueske, our gallant servers (who even sang to us!), delicious treats, and a reading of “A Cup of Christmas Tea.”

Christmas at the James J. Hill house was always exciting and festive, and they make sure it still is today! We were able to hear all about the history of Christmas at the beautiful St. Paul mansion on our recent visit.

Rockin’ Tony put on a GREAT holiday show for us here at Shoreview Senior Living. With tambourines and maracas in-hand, we got to play as his backup band!
