String Art

January 30th, 2018

Residents learned how to do string art. Each piece was unique; they turned out beautifully. It was fun to see the different patterns everyone chose. We can’t wait to see them hanging on their door or shelf.

Movies and Fun

January 29th, 2018

Residents went to the movies and saw “The Greatest Showman.” It’s wonderful musical on how B.T. Barnum got the circus started. It’s been quite awhile since we have been to a movie theater together. It was fun to get popcorn and candy just like the good ol’ times. However, the price was a bit more than 20 years ago! The next day, we celebrated this month’s birthdays with Joe. We all had ice cream and danced and sang the afternoon away.

Trudi and Frank joined us on a sentimental journey with music. Residents sang along with all their favorites from the past. Field Trip: Ideal Hall

January 18th, 2018

We took a road trip to Ideal Hall for lunch and a show from The Floras. We ate stuffed pork chops with all the fixings. It was fabulous. We can’t wait to have the Floras perform at Shoreview Senior Living. Residents livened up the place with some of their dance moves! A Red Hat lady danced with us too. When it was time to leave, we sang some of our favorite tunes as we waited to load the buses. We thought we would drop a hint for Ideal Hall to possibly get a gig some time. We will see if we get a call!

Art with Jill

January 17th, 2018

Jill came in and we did some beautiful art after a morning of Vikings chatter… SKOL!!! We used Saran wrap to make textures in our painting, then added our snowflakes. While we were waiting for our art to dry, Jill and her friend played music and sang a few tunes. Leo, the dog, added some joy as he pranced around, spreading his love to everyone.

Happy Hour with Tony

January 16th, 2018

Tony joined us for happy hour and brought the house down with his Elvis impersonation! He played many of his songs like “Blue Suede Shoes” and “My Teddy Bear.” The ladies loved it. I think Judy is becoming a great addition to his band with her tambourine. It adds some pep to each song.

Sock Snowmen

January 11th, 2018

Residents crafted some sock snowmen. They had fun creating their masterpieces with yarn, buttons, fleece, and pipe cleaners. It sure beats dressing up in our gear and making one outside in the snow!

Happy Hour: Jim and Dan

January 10th, 2018

Jim and Dan joined us for happy hour. They sang many good tunes. The residents loved Roger Miller’s “Dang Me” and Eddie Arnold’s “Make the World Go Away.” Many danced, but everyone sang. What a good time for everyone to get together, let go, and live some of the old memories through music. It warms the heart and soul in each of us.
