Prayer Boxes

Residents made prayer boxes just in time for the new year! It’s a cute little box where they can write down their prayers and let God do the rest. They blinged them out with jewels and ribbon. Adorable!

December Fun and Games

December 19th, 2017

We ended last week with more holiday fun at Shoreview Senior Living’s happy hour. We played a dice game with a gift exchange, which was a big hit. Just when someone thought they had the best gift, someone could roll doubles and steal it! We ended happy hour by singing carols to keep us in the holiday spirit. In the evening, Incarnation Church came in to play candy bar Bingo with the residents. We are so grateful for their time and dedication.

Holiday Party

December 18th, 2017

The holidays are here, and Shoreview celebrated the season in style! Chef Holly, John, and their crew made a delicious spread of wonderful appetizers! There were bbq meatballs and wings, oysters and herring, and many delicious desserts. Residents were surprised to see Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who flew down from the North Pole. We believe that you are never too old to believe in the magic of Christmas. The smiles and joy live in each and every one of us. Santa’s elves even followed to be sure everyone was having fun. We were so lucky to have Sue and Julie to play wonderful holiday music for us. From Winter Wonderland to Silver Bells, they made the evening extra special. We want to give a big thank you to EVERYONE who made the evening a huge success. It was heartwarming to see the residents and their families celebrate together. Blessings to all for a wonderful holiday season!

Cookies and Church

December 15th, 2017

We started out the morning by singing some hymnns before Mass. Later in the afternoon, we decorated cookies and everyone brought a few home for themselves. Maria wasn’t too sure what to do after she dropped a cookie in the green icing. I bet it was still delicious. Residents also learned to make scarves from recycled yarn. They made one special for Leo, the dog, too.

December Fun!

December 14th, 2017

Residents enjoyed their manicures for our big holiday party! Trudi and Frank visited afterward to do a little sing-a-long. She brings out the joy in each resident. Trudi tried to get Kristy and Bernice to keep up with the 12 days of Christmas. It’s harder than you may think! In the evening, a group of girls from Incarnation Church came in to sing some carols in Garden Cove. They not only sang wonderful holiday songs but spent some quality time with the residents as well. It turned out to be a wonderful day!

Tea Party

December 13th, 2017

Jill and Cathie joined us for a holiday tea party. Residents enjoyed some turkey and spinach croissant appetizers as well as holiday cookies. Their tables were all set, and everyone took home a little poinsettia treat made by residents last week. We had some wonderful Christmas music with songs like Silent Night and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. We all wondered who had been naughty or nice this year, but I think we have an idea!
