History on the Go at Fort Snelling

September 26th, 2017

We loaded up 2 buses and headed out to Fort Snelling for the “History on the Go” tour. Each bus had a person in full dress come aboard and take us through the upper and lower fort. It was extremely interesting to learn what is was like back in the 1800’s and how things had changed over the years. A nurse from the 1800’s stepped on and talked about the hospitals and care soldiers received. Great to know the Red Cross still stands strong! Such a beautiful afternoon to get outside and hear about some of Minnesota’s history.

First Annual Craft and Bake Sale!

September 12th, 2017

Saturday we had our first annual Craft and Bake Sale! We were so grateful for all the crafters who joined us. Great to see so much creativity and unique items. Valda had a great display of all her knitting items and we are planning on donating the rest to the kids at Harriet Tubman. Residents all pitched in to make some fun treats and jumped right in to help with the sale. Ok some, like Carol played a bit, but that was ok. Later that afternoon, Beth and Joy joined us and played some music out on the lawn. It ended up being a terrific day. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped!!
