Trip to Mill City Museum

This morning residents took a trip to the Mill City Museum. It was spectacular! We especially like the Flour Tower and the lookout on 9th floor. Some were daring to go out on the patio, while others just were fine staying inside and looking out the window. There was so much information we did not know about, and some information which brought back many memories. Even caught Bob designing his own cereal box and Harriet playing in the water.

Remember the saying “Oh Maynard”, well we now remember it came from the old Malt O Meal advertisement, it was the little boys imaginary friend. Wheaties was said to be accidentally invented in 1921 by a gentleman who spilled grits on a hot stove and they became crispy…hmmm? WCCO actually stands for Washburn-Crosby CO. and that women were hired during the busy time at $3.00 per week! We later went down to Bushel and Peck and enjoyed some box lunches prepared by Chef Dean…Delicious! A great afternoon indeed!
