Old Log Theater

Spectacular afternoon at the Old Log Theater. Thank you to Darts Transportation who brought us to the “Million Dollar Quartet”! It was a wonderful performance with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, making history with their last jam session. Residents were dancing in their seats as they took in this amazing performance!

Pumpkin Painting Party!! Residents came to paint their spookiest faces on their pumpkins for our contest as some wonder “Which came first, the pumpkin, or the pumpkin seed?”

Getting into the Halloween Spirit

We’re getting into the Halloween spirit here at Shoreview Senior Living!!

Trudi Came in to join us for a fun filled Halloween Sing-a-Long. Sang many songs of the fall season and recited some poetry with a twist. Residents and families participated in every song. Frank Trudi’s husband even brought one of his newest puppets which was a hit.
Tony dropped by again to rock our afternoon! So great to have our newest resident Betty out dancing. Great to see such a big smile on her face. My glasses were even found and were tried on by a few residents….they looked great. Getting in the mood for Halloween.
Carol “Shaking Hands” with Wilma. Carol was a bit sneaky by grabbing my fake hand. Too funny!

Scrapbooking & a Fall Bonfire

October 11th, 2016

We kicked off the week with some scrapbooking yesterday! Many came to create a page with their name to hang on their doors. They turned out GREAT!

Later that evening we enjoyed a beautiful evening outside. Bonfire, hot dogs, s’mores and music. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer evening. The sky was beautiful as we remembered the old saying, “Red sky at night, sailors delight.” Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make the evening a success!!

County Pumpkin Craft

We got crafty last week and created some county pumpkins for decoration in Garden Cove. Residents did a great job… Wasn’t sure if I trusted Rachel with the hammer, but she did ok. I still have my fingers. 😉

Manicure and Facial Day

Tenants were treated with a Manicure and Facial Day this week! It was wonderful to see such a good turn out, and I was so grateful for all of our terrific volunteers!!!

Many opted to get a facial with Kristy who also incorporated a mini massage. It felt so good to see them so relaxed and feeling a bit pampered!!

Laughter Yoga

We started a new group called “Laughter Yoga” here at Shoreview. It was a wonderful turn out, and everyone experienced the tremendous benefits laughter has on them! We created a orchestra and played music, worked on our vowel sounds and played a little peek-a-boo. It was a GREAT time!! “It’s like internal jogging, providing a good massage to all internal organs while also toning abdominal muscles. A day without laughter is a day wasted!”
